Welcome to the new version of "Derby Des Pyrénées" website !

But what is the "Derby Des Pyrénées" ?
This is the first appointment FESTIVE for all gliding apparatus in the Pyrenees (ski, snowboard, freeheel, monoski, snowscoot and special apparatus) which compete in a descent of 800 vertical meters regardless of their level and all that in a crazy atmosphere!
Many prizes to win and not only for the winners!

A busy weekend evening with festive meal complete with a concert.

History

2002: An original off-piste skiing in Pyrenees does not exist : the idea of a Derby on Piau is launched.
2003: The DERBY CLUB association of PIAU countered in the Oficial Gazette.
Object ?

Create a major sports event,
Bring an unusual and unpublished concept in Pyrenees,
Set up an annual Derby called DERBY OF PYRENEES opened to all...

2004: 1st DERBY OF PYRENEES, 39 participants. Jean-Marc SANS AGUT wins in the fog.
2006: 100 participants. Raphaël BenoÃ®t wins. Novelty : evening with dining apéritif and concert.
2008: 150 competitors!
2009: New formula with a departure at 30 past twelve and 200 competitors...
New category: SNOWSCOOTS, and Julien MAGUY, realizes a time of 1mn23s34'
2010: 270 registrations !
The 1st woman, Agathe DELARUE, is ranked 12th in the scratch. The winner is Freddy GARNIER in 1 mn25s22' on a spring snow. Julien MAGUY's record is threatened...
