On March 13th, 2004, 40 local competitors dashed on the north face of the Peak of Piau, to Piau-Engaly on the Commune of Aragnouet in the French Hautes-Pyrénées.

On March 21st, 2009, 200 competitors come from 18 French departments and from 4 countries participated in the 6th edition of the Derby Of Pyrenees.

The Derby Club of Piau, organizing association of the event, prepares the 7th edition of this event except standards in Pyrenees. 300 competitors are waited on March 20th, 2010.

This event, individual (and) or collective, allows the fastest competitors, but also the most original, to be rewarded for their exploits, in currency or in trophies.

A big part of the competitors is rewarded by the subsidies of the partners (skis, snowboard, winter clothes, helmets, purchase vouchers etc) which are drawn lots at the conclusion of the prize-giving. ( More than 300 lots last year).

The Derby Of Pyrenees attracts every year specialist publications and partners, without whom the event would not be what it became.
